Welcome to 3 day Tour which will present you Josef Stalin’s museum in Gori, 2nd millennium BC cave town of Uplistsikhe, beautiful nature of Imereti Region and breathtaking views of Okatse Canyon, Prometheus cave – one of the largest caves in the world, UNESCO Heritage sites — Bagrati Cathedral and Gelati Monastery.
Day to day itinerary
9:00 Depart from Tbilisi hotel to Gori J. Stalin’s Museum. Personal items belonged to J. Stalin are exhibited there. Next site to visit is Uplistsikhe cave-town — first human settlement mentioned in manuscripts (2n millennium BC).
Continue driving to Tskhaltubo via Ricoti Pass. See baskets and ceramic jars and other handmade crafts at markets by the road.
Arrive to Tskhaltubo. Hotel check in. Night in Tskhaltubo Hotel.
After lunch in the hotel drive to Okatse Canyon. Enjoy breathtaking views of wild nature and unbelievably beautiful waterfalls. Canyon is about 14 km in length and between 20 to 100 meters in depth.
Come back to Tskhaltubo for Lunch. Take a short drive to Prometheus caves after lunch. It is one of the largest caves in the word, has more than 16th halls and many underground rivers. The length of the tourist route is 1060 m., total length 15 555 m, the maximum height is 20 m., air temperature is 15 – 17 C all year round.

9:00 start to Kutaisi to see Bagtary Cathedral, 11 th century cathedral church recognized as a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture. Bagrati Cathedral and Gelati Monastery were included to the worlds UNESCO Heritage Sites list.
Next site to see is Monastery of Gelaty. It contains the Church of Virgin founded by the king of Georgia David the Builder in 1106 and the 13th century churches of St. George and St. Nicolas. The Monastery for a long time was one of the main cultural and intellectual centers in Georgia. Its academy employed some of the most celebrated scientists, theologians and philosophers from abroad and also from Constantinople. Visit 10th century small and cozy Motsameta Monastery (monastery of martyrs), located on a cliff promontory over a small river it is surrounded with woods. The monastery was built at the place of execution of Georgian martyrs who refused to change their religion.
Arrival to Tbilisi at 18:00. Transfer to hotel. End of service.
