Jvari Monastery
Jvari Monastery is dated 585-604 cc AD.
It is one of the five Georgia’s cultural-historical monuments included to the UNESCO World Heritage list. Jvari located on the top hill is overlooking town of Mtskheta and confluence of rivers Aragvi and Mktvari. It is 19 km or 20 minutes of drive from Tbilisi.
According to the legend it was built at the place where St. Nino placed a wooden cross and prayed.
